Terms and conditions

These terms apply to every trip Tembelani Safaris arranges. If your proposal lists its own terms, those take priority where they differ.
Proposals and prices
A proposal shows the price on the day it was prepared. Prices and availability can change until you pay the deposit and every supplier has confirmed. Each proposal shows the date the price is held until.
Booking and payment
- Your booking starts when you accept the proposal and we receive the deposit shown on it.
- The balance is due on the date shown on your proposal, usually 60 days before you travel.
- If the balance is late we may cancel the booking and the cancellation terms below apply.
- Card payments are processed in South African rand by PayFast. Your bank may charge a conversion fee.
Changes and cancellations
If you change or cancel, the lodges, airlines and operators in your trip charge according to their own rules, and we pass those charges on. We will tell you what applies before we book and again if you ask to change. Deposits paid to suppliers are often non refundable.
If a supplier changes or cancels, we will offer you the closest alternative we can find, or a refund of what that supplier returns to us.
Insurance, passports and health
- Every traveller needs travel insurance covering medical costs, emergency evacuation and cancellation.
- Passports must be valid for at least six months after you return, with blank pages for stamps.
- Visas, vaccinations and malaria precautions are your responsibility. We are happy to point you to the right information.
Our role
Tembelani Safaris arranges your trip as an agent for the suppliers named in your proposal. Each supplier is responsible for its own services and its own terms. We take care choosing them, but we are not liable for their acts or omissions beyond what the law requires.
Safety in the bush
Safaris involve wild animals and remote places. Always follow the instructions of your guides and lodge staff. Activities are at your own risk to the extent the law allows.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
